WMCS athletics is committed to
helping each student grow. Our goal is to provide each student-athlete
with the opportunity to acknowledge and respond to the word of God while
participating in an athletic program which stresses social, emotional
and physical development combined with commitment. Under the leadership
of our Christian coaches, our students gain a personal awareness of
honesty and integrity with themselves and others. Throughout our
athletic department, valuable lessons are applied in Christian ethics,
morals and values that teach our athletes how to become productive
people in an independent society.
WMCS is and has been extremely
competitive in every area of our athletic program. WMCS is a member of
the MAIS (Mississippi Association
of Independent Schools). The Black Knights compete with other private
schools in Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. We have had many great
team accomplishments as well as individual successes. Some of our teams
accomplishments include: District Championships, North State
Championships and State Championships. Some of our athletes have moved
on to compete in college athletics at all levels from Junior College to
NCAA Division 1 athletics.
WMCS offers the following
sports: Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track & Field, Golf, Fast Pitch
Softball and Tennis.
